About Dr. Chris...
After practicing as a critical care Registered Nurse for 10 years, Dr. Chris earned her DMD from the University of Kentucky and her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Connecticut. She also spent a year fellowship in Orthodontics at U. Conn. and served on the faculty in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics for seven years there. She then joined Dr. Walter Doyle in practice and in teaching seminars. She is Past President of the American Orthodontic Society and active in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, along with other organizations.
Today, after more than 30 years in dentistry, Dr. Chris's approach to pediatric dentistry and orthodontics is based in prevention, with emphasis on orthodontic treatment procedures for the preschool and school-age child to improve the growth of the entire face. Her experience in practice management and her extensive knowledge of child behavior, parenting, and child management are elements integrated in her practice and teaching.
The author of five books, Dr. Chris is a past or current faculty member at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, the University of Louisville Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, and at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. She lectures and hosts seminars on Pediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics and Life topics around the world.
