Some years ago, Jeff Olson published a book called, “The Slight Edge”.
This book had a huge impact on us, as we followed his point that we are always...
...ALWAYS moving along a trajectory, either in a positive, or in a negative direction.
There is no standing still.

The Slight Edge for Dan Jansen in the’94 Olympics speed skating was a win by 29 one hundredths of a SECOND. That is 0.29 second.  Less than a third of a SECOND!
As Jeff Olson said, that’s a very Slight Edge!

Whether you are talking in your life, in your work, or play,
the difference in accomplishing,
the difference in winning and losing,
the difference in positive or negative trajectory...
...is a very SLIGHT EDGE.

Would you like $1 million dollars right now, or a penny a day, doubled each day for one month?

One penny, doubled every day for a month adds up to $10,737,418… and 24 cents.

Increase your efforts each day - in your family and friend relationships, in work, in play, by just three-tenths of 1%, adding three-tenths of 1% each day, and by the end of five years, you will have moved along your Slight Edge 1600%!

Just in a year you’d have improved 100%!

Your nutrition?
Your weight?
Your health?
Your family?
Loving others?
Imagine - after 1 week…1 month…1 year later…
You’ll be living a different life.
Get on and stay on the Slight Edge.
Happy 2025!
Love,

As the New Year kicks off,
we will all begin another chapter in the experiences we have.
The way we live...
...and the energies we put into the world.

It has been taking courage.
And it will continue to take courage.
And there can be no courage if you are not afraid.
Courage comes when you breathe deeply...
...and keep going.
Through the fear.

This year has been full of bumps and bruises
Yet takes us to a life we’ve never imagined.

“Soon, when all is well,
you’re going to look back on this period of your life
and be so glad that you never gave up.”  - Brittany Burgunder

And next New Year’s Day will be...
VERY different.
Glorious, I imagine!

Breathe deeply.
Keep going.
Enjoy the year.
Happy New Year, 2025!

My idea of Christmas,
whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple:
  loving others.

"Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?"
    - Bob Hope

Merry Christmas season and love!

Many things happen to you that you cannot control.
Yet, you can control your reaction, your perspective on what happens.
You can control how you let it affect your mood, your thoughts.
In the hardest moments, be confident in letting go and letting God
appear as the abundant all-sufficiency in your life and affairs.
You win the moment when you trust and reframe your thoughts to trust
  - even in the midst of the storm.

Merry Christmas and love,

Funny how we forget how much we wanted something
...that we got long ago.
A diploma.
A romance.
A career.
Even a specific pair of boots.
We’ve forgotten there was a time we didn’t have it.
How we might feel if we lost everything we now have...
And then got it all back.
Life’s preciousness can be forgotten...
...if we aren’t careful!

Did you ever wonder why and how we begin to take things for granted?
In our humanness, we stop being amazed at the goodness, the joy, the miracles...
That we forget to feel that rush of gratitude.
Look for it.
Notice the simplest things that are good today.
Enjoy your Thanks-giving...

Not only are you here for a purpose,
There is also a purpose in each person you meet.
For you, some will be difficult, some will be easy and wonderful,
Still, every single one is there to help you grow,
And awesomely, you are there to help them grow.
Crazy fun, this life!

Be sure to be kind to yourself.
Take time for you.
Be with your best people.
Astonish others with your kindness, your love, and feel it come back to you.
Funny how it works - the more we share love, the more we feel.
Life is about not knowing.
Life is about having to change.
Gilda Radner called it delicious ambiguity, making the day, the best possible, without knowing what’s going to happen next.
Oh if we could see it that way more often…
