Before Technology Took Over

Running through the sprinkles of rain.
Chasing down the ice cream truck.
Riding bikes with friends around the neighborhood.
Swinging so high the poles lifted out of the ground.
Picking blackberries.
Catching fireflies.  And tadpoles.
No internet.  No cell phones.
No social media.
We headed home when the streetlights came on.
Those summers of our childhoods…
How lucky we are to have grown up
Before technology took over the world.
Let’s get our children back to the beguilement of existence.
When you see something beautiful in someone,
Tell them.
It may take a second to say,
But for them, it could last a lifetime.
And you’ll walk away feeling SO happy!!!
