We parents have heard it so very many times.
“Everyone else has, gets to," etc. Yet, there is tough stuff, the challenges, the harder things to do. Not everyone does those. In fact, many many people don’t. Many folks don’t pick up the baby blanket dropped by the baby in the cart ahead of you in the store to return it. You can. Many folks don’t smile and say a kind word to a lost-looking person on the sidewalk. Who knows what difficulties that person is working through? But folks just look and pass, not greeting, or saying “Hi there. Anything I can help you with today?” You can. Many folks stay “mad” after an argument, instead of saying, “I don’t want to be mad. I love you.” You can. Even if no one else does… you can.
