Is life tough?

Sure, sometimes it’s overwhelmingly so! Losing the love of my life (Walter), was more than overwhelming.

  How could it be?

How could the person with whom I was supposed to grow old be gone?    How to begin to live without him?

“Those who overcome great challenges will be changed, and often in unexpected ways. For our struggles enter our lives as unwelcome guests, but they bring valuable gifts. And once the pain subsides, the gifts remain. These gifts are life's true treasures, bought at great price, but cannot be acquired in any other way.”    ~ Steve Goodier

Looking back now, I know he had to leave so I could become strong. There was no remedy for my love lost but to love more.

Keep going.

Grow. Learn. Shape. Become. Love more.

Truly, in love,

When you look at your life, notice how you’ve shaped your life, how you’ve shaped yourself.

Life is just that - your life school of learning, growing, shaping and becoming.

"Wha...?"  you ask.

Yes - your choices determine your direction, your trajectory, your progress.

Your choice to have goals and make actions toward them.

Your choice not to get angry at others, NOR at yourself, but to accept and even celebrate the experiences of your life as opportunities to keep going, keep growing, keep learning, keep becoming.

This week, choose courage over fear.  We all have the fears.  It’s part of our “life-school” experience.  And we can each and everyone, choose courage, each and everytime.

Change direction as you wish.  It’s your choice.

Love you, my teacher - love you.

Will I up-size my order?  Will I add a large fries?

Will I do my workout this morning?

Will I take a few minutes to sit outside on a glorious summer morning and be silent, thinking how grateful I am, and for what I am grateful?  Will I stay on social media for a while longer?  Will I read “Twelve Pillars” by Jim Rohn, or another book that helps me improve?

Those tiny decisions.

Each is easy to do - and easy not to do.

And each has the potential to drive you toward -or away from - your desires, your goals.

Oh - and will I write down my goals and contemplate, image them and say thank you for them right now?

“To become more, you have to be more….more loving, more kind, more forgiving, more understanding, more driven, more passionate, more secure, more thoughtful.”    ~ Brian Chewning

Easy to do.  Tiny little decisions, each second of the day.  Easy not to do.

“A good deal of frustration and unhappiness could be avoided if people would just do what they know they should do.”  ~ Earl Nightingale

Easy to do.

Go for it.

You could decide that today you will go for every one of those little positive decisions that you can.  See how you feel at the end of the day!!

Here’s to your great life!

Think, before you even get your coffee in your hand...

“This is going to be a wonderful day.  I can and will handle every challenge that comes my way.   I feel great physically, mentally and emotionally!   It is wonderful to be alive.”

What if you aren’t so sure you feel that great - or that sure?

Say it anyway.   Go into it.   Feel it as best you can.  Keep on saying it.

Get your coffee.

This morning, we walked when it was early enough there was hardly anyone up and about.   The beautiful summer morning was scented with the herb-y summer plants and still air.

As we walked and stilled our hearts, we said the “going to be a wonderful day”, then got back and made our coffee.

Sipping that yummy freshly ground, freshly brewed coffee, we felt the energy of the wonderful day!

“Before you leave the house, you need to make up your mind that you're going to stay positive and enjoy the day no matter what comes your way. You have to decide ahead of time.”    ~ Joel Osteen

Still your heart.   Breathe in.   See the beautiful day.   Feel and BE your gratitude.

Stay in love.

Some days flow better than others.   Why?

Because of how you think.  When you remember that even the most challenging experiences are made easier when you see them as opportunities, the day will flow better.   Your life will be better.

Opportunities?

Yes.
To help others.   To make your family’s life better.   To grow.   To learn.   To reach out.

And then, when today is done, put it to rest and put yourself to rest.  A new day is coming.

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”            ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

And when tomorrow becomes your today, start out with proclaiming:

Today is going to be a wonderful day.  I can handle every challenge that comes my way.  I feel great physically, mentally and emotionally.  It is wonderful to be alive.  I am grateful for all that I have had, all that I now have and all that I shall have.  Today will NOT fall apart.   God is with me, God is helping me, God is guiding me.  I thank God for every good thing.

Happy Day!

Actually a better question is “What changes do you want to MAKE?”

It takes your constant and consistent decisions to make changes - because our lives become so habitual.  Habits are mostly unconscious.

That’s why it takes conscious energy to change what we are doing, where we are going, what we are reaping.

So, there are ways to make change happen.  It is within YOU.

The first step is your belief. about your life.

“If you’re gonna make a change, you’re gonna have to operate from a new belief that says life happens not TO me but FOR me.”
    ~ Tony Robbins

The next step is being clear on your goal.

So what change are you after?

Who do you want to be?  What will that be like?

And then, begin making action toward that goal.  The tiniest steps are great.  Do something, anything, and then do something else, anything else, to put you on your path.

The Universe’s magic engages to help you.

You are on your way.

Repeat over and over.

Have fun!

If you just do IT every day, you’ll be enormously successful.

What on earth is IT?

IT is constantly and consistently making what author Jeff Olson calls “Slight Edge" decisions. Like these:

Make your lunch and take it with you.  This avoids the takeout. In your lunch, include healthful foods like fresh vegetable strips, cheese, boiled egg…

Decide to walk some today.  You can even do some flights of stairs in the stairwell at the office.

Read something you can learn and grow from.

Skip the donuts and pastries today at the coffee stand.

Skip Facebook and Instagram and get on your work project instead.

Make a life-goal list and look at it three times today.

Spend time with your family, without TV or other devices.

Leave your cell phone on the charger and sit down for a morning coffee with your beloved.

Write an old-fashioned letter with pen and paper to that elderly family member or friend.

Mail it.

Truly listen to your children, looking into their eyes, and loving them.

Eat no food between meals today.

Write down three things for which you are grateful.

Feel the gratitude.

You are on your way.  You’re doing IT.

Who in the world are the right people? The ones who build you up, who challenge you, who believe you CAN do the good stuff.

Who in the world are the right people?

The ones who build you up, who challenge you, who believe you CAN do the good stuff.

“You are the average of the five people that you spend the most time with.”
~ Jim Rohn

If they are negative, you will be surrounded and enmeshed in negativity.

If they are positive and happy, you will find it easy to be positive and happy.

If their lives revolve around eating, sleeping, partying, random entertainment, social media and generally getting by,  you will find yourself involved in gossip, complaining, unhappiness, and boredom.

Love, living with purpose, being healthy, and constant and never-ending improvement will be difficult to explore or even broach with those folks - and even more difficult to do.

Your future will be shaped by your level of consciousness and the energies of the people around you.

Who do you want to become?
Who do you spend time with?
Do they match what you want to become?

Surround yourself with people who hold you to a higher standard than you hold yourself.

Choose your people wisely.  Spend your time wisely.  Go for your gusto!!

It’s so easy to make a tiny decision that can change your life.

That decision may be to move in a positive direction...  just a 15-minute walk today, OR,

• eat a healthful dinner, OR

• read a few pages of “pumped-up stuff”, OR

• sit for five minutes on the side of your bed in the morning and think of the wonderful things in your life.

Any of these are pretty easy to do.

And - they are easy not to do.

Instead, you can walk tomorrow, OR
• eat better tomorrow, OR
• play on social media instead of reading the “good stuff,” OR
• sleep another five minutes, throw the covers back and hit the shower running, feeling stressed and hurried.
That’s pretty easy to do as well.

Whichever way you go, leads to a path - a path toward the life you want, toward the joy of living, or a path of more frustrations and difficulties.

Your tiny decisions will decide by and for you where you ultimately end up.

Easy to do, easy not to do.  Choose well.
