Running through the sprinkles of rain.
Chasing down the ice cream truck.
Riding bikes with friends around the neighborhood.
Swinging so high the poles lifted out of the ground.
Picking blackberries.
Catching fireflies.  And tadpoles.
No internet.  No cell phones.
No social media.
We headed home when the streetlights came on.
Those summers of our childhoods…
How lucky we are to have grown up
Before technology took over the world.
Let’s get our children back to the beguilement of existence.
When you see something beautiful in someone,
Tell them.
It may take a second to say,
But for them, it could last a lifetime.
And you’ll walk away feeling SO happy!!!

...at a stranger
As you walk through an airport,
Or across a room,
Or even passing by in a car

Can change the stranger
And the world
For all time.

A group of young ladies and a gentleman with whom I worked
In Abu Dhabi.
Each and every one, bringing lessons to me.
And now, the days in the desert land are
But memory.
Save the lessons learned,
The intense love shared,
The laughter ringing through the American Dental Clinic
The patients, the parents,
And Team Wonderful
Sharing.  Sharing.  Learning.  Growing.  Loving.

Did you learn when you were young,
That if you work hard,
You can do it?
You can get what you want?

Is that because of the hard work?
Or is that because the hard work toward the goal
...keeps your thoughts focused on your heart’s desire?
Hmmmm….

Isn’t it funny?

One day we are lonely,

Then we have friends around us and forget we were lonely.
One day we are down.

Then we find joy and fun and upbeat days and forget we were down.
One day we are sad.

Then happiness appears and sadness is barely a memory.
What changes from the one day?

Your thoughts.  Your thinking.  Your connection to God!

Sometimes
We think we’ve failed.
And it’s so difficult, so painful.

But truly,
We’ve only learned.
We’ve become greater.

We’ve become more aware.
We’ve gained courage.

That we’ll need the nest time
We think we’ve failed.

A nest of wren eggs in our garage.
The parent birds coming and going.
Guess we better leave the garage door open, said we.
Coming and going.
We heard peeping.
Finally - the babies were hatching.
Mother & Father flew in and out with things in their mouths.
Babies lived in the nest, alone until the parents came each time.
Tiny, sentient lives that grew there,
And joined the world outside.
When it was time.
The spectacular miracles around us
God’s glories
Under our noses.
Celebrate the glorious world today
As you walk through it.

Ram Dass, nee Dr. Richard Alpert, reminded us to
“Be here, now.”
Sounds so simple, doesn’t it?
But think about it - notice what you think about most of the time.
Is it what is RIGHT NOW?
Or is it
What to make for dinner;
Did I do a good job of that?
Do I really have to go to the meeting tonight?
Be here, now.
Look around.
See the people.
See the world in its beauty.
Focus on any- and every-thing in this moment.
We stay way too much in the past (often regret), and in the future (often worry).
Today,
Work to
Be here, Now.

My cart and I passed a petite lady in a pretty summer dress, pushing her cart.
Did she say something to me?
I turned around and said, “Did you say something to me?”
And she responded with a beautiful smile, “Yes, I said, ‘Your dress is beautiful!’”
A few minutes later we left, both filled with the love, joy and sense of fun
We had shared.
Two beautiful summer dresses.
Two ladies.
Enjoying reaching out.
In love and fun.

To be aware,
To understand,
To know
Of your Divine Presence.
Fill your awareness with the Light of Truth.
This is the time
To give
Love,
Joy, and a sense of fun.
Everyone around you needs your love, joy and fun .
You need it too.
And then, watch the windows of heaven be thrown open with a blast!
Because what we give comes back to us many-fold.
And the lives changed, many unbeknownst to you, some known,
Include your very own.
