And here is perhaps the worst part —--
YOU will wrong them, too!
Now that we’ve got that figured out, what to do?
There is only one good answer. Forgiveness.
You may think, they don’t “deserve” forgiveness. You may even think, “I don’t deserve forgiveness.”
But indeed, forgiveness - of yourself, or of them - is for YOU.
The opposite side of forgiveness is revenge or retribution.
That will hurt you even more than the original wrong.
Confucius pointed out, “If you go after revenge, you better dig two graves.”
Saint Augustine said, “Resentment (Unforgiveness) is like drinking poison and hoping the other person dies.”
...and from Lewis Smedes, “To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.”
Right now, decide to constantly forgive and free yourself and others around you. Constantly forgive and get back to loving.
